The Ultimate ‘FAQ for Humanity’ Was Answered 1400 Years Ago by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
For thousands of years, the greatest minds in history—from Plato to Nietzsche to modern-day philosophers—have tried and failed to answer the most fundamental questions of human existence. Their attempts have resulted in endless speculation, conflicting theories, and ultimately, a void of uncertainty.
Humanity has been stuck in an existential crisis, constantly asking:
- “Why are we here?”
- “What is our purpose?”
- “What happens when we die?”
The answers provided by man have always been insufficient, leading to more questions, anxiety, or outright nihilism.
Then, 1400 years ago, in the deserts of Arabia, a man named Muhammad (ﷺ), the final Messenger of God, delivered the answers. Not from his own genius or philosophical deduction, but from direct, divine revelation (Wahy) from the Creator Himself. This is the ultimate form of Spiritual Intelligence: the ability to provide certain, divine truth where man can only offer doubt.
He provided the definitive, clear, and soul-satisfying answers to the “Frequently Asked Questions” of the human condition.
The Great Existential Questions… Answered:
- What is the purpose of life? To worship the one true God, Allah, alone. “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (Qur’an 51:56)
- Where do I come from? You are a creation of Allah, fashioned in stages from a humble origin, and honored by Him. (See Qur’an 23:12-14)
- Why do we and everything else exist? To be tested in our obedience to our Creator, and to glorify Him. “[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed.” (Qur’an 67:2). Every creation, from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy, exists to glorify Him and to serve as a sign of His majesty.
- What am I supposed to do here? To live a life of submission (Islam) to the will of Allah, following the clear guidance He has sent through His Messenger (ﷺ).
- Are there consequences for my actions? Yes. Absolute and perfect justice will be served on the Day of Judgment. Every good deed will be rewarded, and every evil deed will be accounted for. The consequences are eternal: Paradise (Jannah) or Hellfire (Jahannam).
- Can I just do as I wish? You have been given free will, but you have not been left without guidance. You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choice.
- What happens after I die? You will enter the life of the grave (Barzakh), where you will be questioned by two angels about your Lord, your religion, and your Prophet. This will be a period of bliss or punishment, leading up to the final resurrection.
- What’s coming after this world ends? The Day of Resurrection, where all of humanity will be brought back to life to stand before Allah for judgment. Your deeds will be weighed, and you will cross the bridge over Hell to your final destination.
- How is our Creator? What is His nature?
> He is exactly as He described Himself in the Qur’an and as His Messenger (ﷺ) described Him in the authentic Sunnah. He is One (Al-Ahad), the Eternal (As-Samad). He has the most beautiful names and the most perfect attributes. He is above His heavens, risen over His Throne, separate and distinct from His creation. He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful, and the Most Merciful.
The Result: Peace in a World of Chaos
This is not just trivia. This knowledge is the source of a believer’s profound peace and unshakeable purpose.
The non-believer stumbles through life in darkness, guessing at his purpose, fearing the unknown of death, and having no anchor. The believer walks with confidence and clarity, on a brightly lit path. He knows where he came from, he knows why he is here, and he knows exactly where he is going.
This is the greatest mercy of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). He did not just bring a set of rules; he brought the complete, divine answer key to the test of life.
Alhamdulillah for the blessing of Islam and the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
