Unraveling Fabrications: 50 Myths and Misattributed Traditions in Islamic
In the age of information, it’s paramount to scrutinize the authenticity of religious teachings. This scrutiny is particularly crucial in the case of Islamic traditions and sayings attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). In this blog post, we’ll explore 50 myths and fabricated traditions that have circulated over time. It is essential to approach such information with caution, emphasizing the importance of relying on authentic sources.
Fabricated Hadiths:
*1:* An old woman used to throw rubbish at the Holy Prophet. It is fabricated
*2:* Hazrat Bilal RA used to read Sen to Sheen and when he stopped him from calling the Adhan, the sun did not rise. Both traditions are fabricated
*3:* The tradition of Owais Qarni breaking his blessed teeth is fabricated.
*4:* The incident of Hazrat Umar’s son committing adultery is also fabricated.
*5:* Love of country is faith. It is fabricated
*6:* He who knows himself knows Allah. Tradition is fabricated
*7:* One prayer behind the scholar is equal to four thousand four hundred and forty prayers. The tradition is fabricated
*8:* Get knowledge even if you have to go to China. It is fabricated.
*9:* The famous story of the arrow being removed from the body of Hazrat Ali during prayer is fabricated
*10:* Whoever has no foot, his foot is Satan. It is fabricated.
*11:* The story of Harut, Marut and Zahra is fabricated.
*12:* There is no such hadith that it is wrong to give tidings of paradise after giving tidings of the month of Safar or the month of Ramadan.
*13:* If there is less honor in bowing down, then take the resurrection from me. It is fabricated
*14:* I was a hidden treasure, I wanted to be known, so I created the universe. It is fabricated
*15:* Adultery is a debt, if you take it, it will be paid from your family. It is fabricated.
*16:* Hazrat Bilal saw the Prophet ﷺ coming from Damascus to Madinah in a dream, then giving the call to prayer and the wailing of the people of Madinah. (This is a fictional story)
*17:* Saying the dua of you ﷺ to hand over the account of my ummah to me so that my ummah does not have to bear shame in front of other ummah. (is fictitious)
*18:* Every prophet received prophethood after forty years. (is fictitious)
*19:* After reciting Durood, Allah will create a bird with 70,000 wings, whose glorification will be rewarded to the reciter. (is fictitious)
* 20:* The person who speaks at the time of Adhaan is not blessed with death at the time of speech. (is fictitious)
*21:* On the occasion of the ascension of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said that he should come to the throne with his shoes on. (is fictitious)
* 22:* By performing Fajr sunnahs at home, expansion of sustenance, no conflict between families, and end to faith. (These virtues are baseless
*23:* On the day of Mohshar, Allah will say that who is the one who will give an account, Allah’s anger will cool down when Hazrat Siddique Akbar comes before him. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
* 24:* Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that after Gabriel (peace be upon him) will come to the world ten times and take ten things. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*25:* An uncovered woman will be hanged by her hair in hell. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*26.* He said, First of all, God Almighty will lead my funeral prayer (this is fabricated).
* 27:* In the year of the birth of the Prophet ﷺ, a boy will be born to every pregnant woman. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
* 28:* Hazrat Bilal’s entry into Paradise holding the nickel of his camel. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*29:* Saying of the Prophet ﷺ: I do not even trust death so much that if I turn my greetings to one side, I will be able to turn it to the other side as well or not. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
* 30:* Abu Jahl that giving the testimony of the Prophet ﷺ with pebbles in his hands. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*31:* The tradition of leaving the prayer during the prayer at the call of the parents (severely weak, cannot explain).
*32:* There is healing in the lie of the believer (fabrication).
33:* Abu Bakr As-Sadiq wearing sackcloth and greetings from Almighty Allah on him (is fabricated)
* 34:* The Prophet (ﷺ) said to Jibreel in the Sukrat: Give me the pain of the Sukrat of my entire Ummah. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*35:* A woman will take four people with her to hell. Father, brother, husband, son. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*36:* On the Day of Resurrection, two people will go to heaven for giving a good deed. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*37:* When a young person repents, Allah removes the punishment from all the graveyards from east to west for forty days. (Certificate is not found, description should be withheld)
*38:* The Special Secret of Ascension. Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) consulted her father Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about one of the special things on the night of the Ascension and tell Abu Bakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him). He wept after hearing that. (This tradition could not be found in any authentic or non-authentic book)
*39:* Once the Prophet ﷺ was circumambulating, he found an Arab circumambulating in front of him, whose tongue had the sound of Kareem or Kareem. The Holy Prophet ﷺ also started reciting the Kareem from behind. On which he said to the Prophet ﷺ that you are making fun of me. (This incident is also not present in any authentic or non-authentic traditions)
*40:* Two persons entered the secret of Hazrat Umar Farooq RA and pointed to one person and said that this person has killed our father. The man confessed and asked for three days to return some trusts, on which Abu Dharr Ghaffari gave him a guarantee. (No reference to this entire incident could be found in any authentic or weak source)
*41:* The Garbiya throwing garbage and the Garbiya leaving Makkah, both traditions are fabricated and the Garbiya whom Abu Bakr Siddique served for many years, this tradition is very weak and cannot be narrated.
*42:* There were four faults in a person, on the advice of the Prophet ﷺ, he stopped telling lies, then all his other sins were also forgiven. (is fictitious)
*43:* A woman will take four men with her to hell. Father, husband, brother and son. (is fictitious)
*44:* A person who has a child born here and names it Muhammad to get blessings, both the child and its father will go to heaven. (is fictitious)
*45:* Don’t beat your children for crying because the crying of a child is for four months la ilaha ila Allah, and for four months Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and for four months it is a prayer for parents. (is fictitious)
*46:* A miser will not go to heaven even if he is pious, and a generous person will not go to hell even if he is a transgressor. (is fictitious)
*47:* An hour’s contemplation is better than a year’s worship.
This is not a hadith but the words of Hazrat Sri Saqati.
*48:* Allah Almighty said to Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him): O Musa, when I talk to you, there are 70 thousand curtains between me and you, but when the Ummah Muhammadiyah prays at the time of breaking the fast, there will be no curtain. (is fictitious)
*49:* Traditions regarding the Shab al-Qadr with a particular number of Nawafls or praying in a particular way (are fabricated).
*50:* Avoid places of slander. (is fictitious)
*Note:*
The explanation should be suspended, i.e., do not explain at all without getting a reliable document. The evidence of these traditions was not found despite the utmost search. Therefore, the requirement of arrangement and caution in the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ is that their narrating is suspended until an authentic document is available.
* The Prophet ﷺ said.*
“Whoever says to me what I did not say, then he will be saved from the fire.” (1)
Translation: “Whoever narrates in my name what I did not say, let him make his abode in hell.” “
(Sahih Bukhari 109)
It is proven from frequent hadiths that a person who tells lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is in hell. Despite this, many people continue to narrate false, baseless and fabricated traditions day and night in their speeches, writings and general conversation.
And our people continue to share such traditions on social media day by day without verification.
Among these numerous false and fabricated traditions, here are some famous traditions and events that are often narrated by our less educated orators and these traditions are often seen circulating on social media.
